Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Accord Counselling Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects and uses personal information from users of our website, encountersolutions.co.uk.
Accord Counselling Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data under UK GDPR.
Who we are
‘Encounter Solutions’ is a trading name of Accord Counselling Ltd.
Company number: 10374930
Registered office: 4 Southport Road, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 1LD
What we collect
This website collects nothing. It has no contact forms, no accounts, no analytics and no cookies. Nothing you do on this site is recorded by us.
If you choose to contact us using the details on this site — by email, telephone or LinkedIn — we receive whatever you decide to share. That is typically your name, your contact details, and the contents of your message.
As with any website, the third-party services that deliver these pages automatically receive your IP address in order to send the page to your browser. See who handles your data below.
We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, or religious belief) through this website. If you choose to share this kind of information with us — for example in the free text of an email — we will only use it for the purpose you shared it, and will handle it with extra care.
How we use it and why
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to an enquiry you have sent us | Legitimate interests — to reply to a message you chose to send us |
| Keeping a record of business correspondence | Legitimate interests — to manage our client relationships and our business |
| Delivering this website to your browser | Legitimate interests — to operate a website at all |
We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for six years, then delete it.
That applies to enquiry correspondence, client records and business correspondence alike. Six years is the period for which we are required to keep business records for HMRC, and it matches the time limit for bringing most contract claims under the Limitation Act 1980.
Where a client relationship is ongoing, the six years runs from the end of that relationship rather than from the date the information was collected. Where the law requires us to keep something for longer, we keep it only for as long as that requirement lasts.
Who handles your data
We use third-party services to run this website. These currently include:
| Provider | What they do | Where | Transfer safeguard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Website hosting and delivery | United States, via a global network | UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses |
| Adobe Inc. | Serves the typefaces used on this site (Adobe Fonts) | United States | UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses |
These providers receive your IP address as a necessary part of delivering the page. They process data on our behalf, or as independent controllers, under written agreements. We do not share your data with anyone else.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of any kind — no essential cookies, no analytics cookies, and no marketing or advertising cookies. There is therefore no cookie banner, and nothing for you to accept, opt into or opt out of.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Ask us to move your data to another provider, where technically feasible
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it, at any time
To exercise any of these rights, or to complain about how we have handled your data, email us at natacha@encountersolutions.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay, keeping you updated on progress.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. It holds no database and no personal data of its own — there is nothing stored here to be breached. Enquiries you send us are received and held in our own email system.
Children
Our services are aimed at adults and at organisations. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date below will always show when it was last revised.
